Recently asked frequently asked questions
When should I get my test?
Many countries, airlines and cruise lines require traveller’s COVID-19 test be taken no sooner than 72 hours prior to departure. However, there are some countries that require sample collection no sooner than 48 hours before departure, and some 24 hours before departure. It can be challenging.
We suggest that you follow your destination country, airline or cruise line guidelines and test as close to their “no-sooner than time” as possible. Please note that our team cannot personally advise you when you should take your test.
Testing too early can result in having to purchase and retest again and given the uncertainty of public health demands, we cannot guarantee urgent one-off requests.
Do I have to have an appointment?
Yes, everyone needs to have an appointment. This provides certainty for travellers that they can access testing on the day required.
How long do results take?
- PCR and serology results will be provided to your email address within 24 hours (if Express Service* is selected) or 48 hours of the swab/bloods being collected if the standard service is selected.
- Results for supervised RATs will be emailed within 1 hour of your appointment.
For Express Service*, please note most results take a minimum of 18 hours and your certificate will be provided within 18-24 hours.
Public health demands
We do all we can to treat and process travel pathology tests as urgent. However, public COVID-19 outbreaks must take priority and the increase in public health demand can sometimes put a strain on turnaround times.
We appreciate that it may not always be possible, however the best way to decrease your test turnaround time is to attend a dedicated Test to Travel clinic.
*Express service is not available at all locations
